Shermaine (PMAP) and her freezing stare
Perhaps this is the most memorable of any fashion event I’ve ever been. Aside from being impressed from Jerome Salaya Ang’s collection, and seeing the comeback of one my early faves – Rodina Luspo on the runway, I almost lost my cool when I realized my camera bag is nowhere out of sight. The PHFW people and Discovery Primea security were very nice to help me until they cleared the venue. Unfortunately, my camera bag plus its accessory are already in the hands of someone else. Still, I’m very thankful that my PENTAX Q7 is with me when the bag became missing in action. I really don’t know how I will react if the camera was inside that bag? Maybe I’ll be sobbing till I don’t know when and I won’t be able to do some blog post for this season of PHFW.
Then again, the blog must go on. In between those moments, I managed to take some runway photos and after show model pics despite of what happened. Glad to know that seeing my beloved runway stars from different agencies could atleast cheer me up. Thank you also to Mr Tex and Mr Mito of PHFW for extending a helping hand, and to Jana Stuntz and Hye Won for calming my nerves down with our small talk 🙂

Surprised! Just got my invites for Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2016. Go check your email friends, especially on the Promotion folder (for gmail users like me) and print your golden ticket(s). FYI,print the attached invite on 8.5 x 11 inches paper (US Letter). I printed mine on a smaller size for flat lay purposes 🙂 I hope I can meet you guys there.

Unlike most of the major fashion capitals, the Philippines has two prime fashion occasions that held bi-annual shows for its fashion audience. While its rival fashion event has successfully staged and closed its curtains with a big bang, Philippine Fashion Week will be celebrating its 20th year with their Spring/ Summer 2016 show. This will be migrated from the grounds of SM Aura Premiere to City of Dreams Manila, located at Roxas Blvd, Paranaque. Their Instagram page shows their new formed partnership with local government sectors; TV channels; and print media. Power Mac will also be returning to their runways as sponsor/ brand partner. According to the schedule shared by designer Jian Lasala on Facebook, this season will only be a 2-day event and some previous-season designers below are not included. We can assume that they may not be participating unless an updated schedule list will be released.

While we are weeks away from this, you may now start sending invite requests for the confirmed designers joining this season. You may view my former blog post to know how to prepare for Philippine Fashion Week.
Note: Post will be updated as soon as new announcements are released.
*Jian Lasala –Even without his name on the schedule list, the designer has posted a collection teaser via Instgaram. On his Facebook post as of 11/18/2015, he posted a photo (same in Instagram) with a caption “10 days to go”. His post on Instagram includes #Phfw. The designer did not show for Philippine Fashion Week S/S 2016. His new collection has been released via look book images,
*Lyle Ibanez – The designer will be showing a collection under ESAC.
*Mixy Dy – The designer will be showing a collection this season.
*Opening and closing party for Philippine Fashion Week S/s 2016 will be held at Pangaea, City of Dreams Manila. Visit @chaosguestlist on twitter to get information on guest list and table reservation.

Initial email for registration is now being sent by the designers (see below). But unlike the previous seasons, the e-invite with QR code is not sent immediately. It took me hours to received the actual e-invite (see 2nd image below). That is why reserve those “Hoorays Im going to Fashion Week” once you get the QR code invite for print.
Schedule has been released and their website has been updated.

Raise your right hand if you are a fanatic who always wants to get first hand information such as invite listings, model line up, and show details before it has been revealed to the general public. For the upcoming Holiday 2015 show, the official site and facebook page has only released the names of the participating designers. However, we found this useful information from Arnold Galang’s instagram post (@arnoldgalang) regarding the venue and schedule.

JUNE 12 – 14, 2015 – We are used to having the event during the last days of May for Spring/Summer shows. Stretching this to the next month will not do harm for sure, not unless you have made plans already with your schedule. Normally, invites are sent 1-2 weeks before the show proper, and this may be the reason why E-invites are not yet queuing in our mailbox.

SM AURA PREMIER – New home for Philippine Fashion Week? From NBC Tent, Glorietta Activity Center, SM Mall of Asia, and now moving into a venue with an upscale ambiance. For us residing near the SM Aura, it’s pretty much will be in our advantage. No more chasing cabs, less armpit sweats and the word “late” will be on the down low. We can speculate that the event will be held at SMX Convention Taguig at either on the 3rd or 4th level of the said mall.
5/27 – Website still shows the previous season’s show line up. Facebook post shows that the schedule is on June 12 to 14 at SM AURA PREMIER (LEVEL 1) AURA Atrium. Official designer list and schedule is unavailable as of this time.
