The modelling world is still in shocked for the untimely demise of one of the industry pioneers in discovering models. She and her husband started FORD Models in 1946 which has expanded into various divisions and offices throughout the American continent and just recently in Europe under FORD Paris. Their people know how to adapt through the changing model trends and pioneered the scheme of operating a modelling agency. They represented icons (Brooke Shields, Beverly Johnson, Suzy Parker, etc) and discovered today’s model sensations (Kendra Spears, Chanel Iman, Hyoni Kang, etc).
Note: Some of the mentioned models are already represented by a different agency.
We credit FORD mainly for opening doors for Filipino models to get notice and penetrate through the international fashion scene. Through their competition – FORD Supermodel of the World, aspiring models can get the chance to compete for that FORD representation and meet opportunities for a meaningful career. Some of the Filipino alums of the contest became working models across Asia and in the Big Apple. This opportunity opened by Eileen’s agency helped recognize the beauty of Filipinos in a global standard.
At the age of 92, she left us with a very meaningful contribution. Through ups and downs, the agency that she and her husband have founded continues to serve their clients with the best of the best talents. Now we know that the prestige of having FORD under a model’s belt is compensated though the unwavering efforts of its founders. Her dedication shaped the modelling history and will keep on going under the strong foundations of FORD Models.
Bless the models!
