Style Origin is a yearly nationwide fashion event in the Philippines conducted to showcase the latest collections and trends of several clothing and lifestyle brands situated at the Ayala establishments on different schedules. Other than Philippine Fashion Week, this is one of the shows where model fanatics can spot their favorite local top models strutting the runway, and the best thing is that the general public can get the chance to watch the fashion show. Die-hard fashion lovers do not need to stress-out to look for sources or to make unnecessary purchases to get invites since we can actually watch the show comfortably at the venue seats being offered to the crowd. I have attended the Style Origin event in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig for the past years and I am guilty of taking advantage of this fashion privilege satisfying my visual urge for clothes and models. I’ve never been to the other show venues but the one in BGC is more model-oriented than those in the other venues where they send celebrities on the runway.
The event was held on BGC-Amphitheater on May 11, 2013 where it is set up like an open air version of the tents on Bryant Park, which is the former venue of New York Fashion Week. After the opening remarks of model-entrepreneur Karen Pamituan, the music started to play and the models stomp their way to the beat. It was a model feast for me seeing my top favorites – Ria Bolivar (W Talent Management), Jasmine Maeirhofer (Mercator) and Jessica Yang (Mercator) which is on the 3rd and 4th photo below. A load of fashion and athletic brands (Banana Republic, Nine West, Gap, G STAR Raw, Springfield, Speedo, RUNNR to name a few) have joined the event bringing a lot of sass on the runway. The program organizer has really good music selections including a track from Grimes, Kills and other heavy-beat runway songs that would drive fashionistas to wear their heels and do their walk.
When the show has ended, I waited at the backstage exit and luckily I have taken snapshots of some of the models. First spotted is Ria Bolivar (W Talent Management) A.K.A. the Natasha Poly of the Philippines. She is really sweet and I just can’t get enough of her perfectly shaped cheekbones and statuesque height.
Model BFFs Irish Ong (PMAP) and Hye Won Jang (Faces) are also part of the show looking like real life Barbie dolls (I swear on to this!).
And lastly, model-actor Marx Topacio (PMAP) is spotted outside the Cotton On store with his lovely girlfriend Maxine Medina and other model friends (not on photo). He look so handsome in person. Someone who is like an ethnic version of a Greek God (just sayin’).
Can’t wait till the next Style Origin Event. I’ll promise to do my best to stalk my way around on other shows and take more candid pics of our favorite models. =)

Bless the models!!!
